Deba knife

Deba knife

This Japanese style kitchen knife is a little thicker than normal as it is designed to cut tougher fish and vegetables. It has forging marks (hammered) and asymmetrical geometry, one side being smooth and the other textured and chamfered. It has an option to manufacture for right or left-handed. (choose at checkout)

The Deba knife is used in Japanese fish markets and restaurants to cut the whole fish fillet apart without damaging the skin. Although many use this knife for slicing meat as well, however, the Deba knife should not be used to cut large diameter bones, nor should it be used as a meat cleaver.
